Finally, after a LONG thirty-one days, January has come and gone. Is it just me that feels like this? I truly feel like we "rung in" the new year like seven weeks ago and not thirty nights ago! Anyway, it has been a very good start to the year of 2023 and to the spring semester and I hope all of you can say the same for yourselves. Specifically, here at ONU it has been very cold the past few months and coming from Texas I have surprisingly enjoyed it quite a bit. The winters are nowhere near as extreme, obviously, but when it's bad it can be really bad. In 2021 there was an ice-storm and every county in Texas was under the winter storm warning, which is absurd considering there are 254 counties. Other than that, I have only seen snow or true winter weather a few times in the past and I really find it amusing that it's simply not that big of a deal here when it occurs. It is quite the opposite back home and it leads people to not know what to do with themselves. This leads me to ask a question, what is your favorite season or your favorite type of weather? Do you enjoy the winter when it's bitter and frigid? Do you prefer warmer or much hotter temperatures? I really enjoy summer here. It doesn't get super hot and I feel like it's much more sunny during the summer. The vibes are just better. It seems like through fall and winter it is just gloomy almost everyday and rarely is it sunny and bright like in the picture I've included.
Have a great week!
Cade, I completely agree that Ohio weather is vastly different that Texas weather. Though I have not experienced Texas snow/ice storms myself, I have read and seen how bad it can get because its rare. I have lived in Ohio my whole life, and I agree that it is really not a huge deal when it snows. I would say my favorite season is between summer and fall. I love July/August weather when its not too hot but also not too cold. I love when the sun is out!
