1 down, 11 to go.

Finally, after a LONG thirty-one days, January has come and gone. Is it just me that feels like this? I truly feel like we "rung in" the new year like seven weeks ago and not thirty nights ago! Anyway, it has been a very good start to the year of 2023 and to the spring semester and I hope all of you can say the same for yourselves. Specifically, here at ONU it has been very cold the past few months and coming from Texas I have surprisingly enjoyed it quite a bit. The winters are nowhere near as extreme, obviously, but when it's bad it can be really bad. In 2021 there was an ice-storm and every county in Texas was under the winter storm warning, which is absurd considering there are 254 counties. Other than that, I have only seen snow or true winter weather a few times in the past and I really find it amusing that it's simply not that big of a deal here when it occurs. It is quite the opposite back home and it leads people to not know what to do with themselves. This l...

Benefits of Blogging

Hello everyone!      After reading chapter 12 a question comes to my mind.. If you could choose one form of blogging to have a career around which would it be? Blogging, vlogging, or podcasting? I have watched many vlogs on youtube and over the past couple of years people have started posting vlogs on TikTok and these vlogs are much shorter in time but still a good experience. I like to watch vlogs by people especially when they are travelling somewhere that I one day would like to go. Of course, the only difference between a vlog and a blog is that a vlog is a video so for some it may be more enjoyable to watch rather than to read the more traditional blog, but both are great nonetheless. Podcasts have rapidly come a long way and I appreciate them. Sports and true crime podcasts are my favorite and I prefer listening to them on a long roadtrip or while I am doing homework. If you enjoy listening to podcasts, which is your favorite? To be honest, I hav...

Back to School

The spring semester kicked off this Monday and the first week has been pretty good overall. I only have one new professor this semester so I feel really comfortable in that aspect of things. Along with this, after a few days in my new classes, I have also realized I'm with many people that I was with last semester in those classes. This is something I really enjoy about my experience here at ONU.     My experience here in Ada is very similar to that of my high school and junior college experiences back at Texas. My high school and junior college were both on the smaller side. Overall, it's easier to make friends and find people that share the same interests as you do. Seeing the same people in my classes helps me know how and who they are and there are really no cons to that. The same goes with my professors, who are all great. Meeting new people is one of the best things about college and getting to know my classmates in this class specifically is g...
